Our friends over at HellgateWelten have hired a new graphic artist who’s designed and released five new Hellgate: London themed wallpapers.
Angelace has just given is notice of their website redesign, which btw is ridiculously awesome.
It is with great excitement that I announce the launch of the new IAHGames Hellgate: London website - The Resistance at http://hellgate.iahgames.com
The website was created specially for the Community and boasts of many new & exciting features:
* Pre-order Hellgate: London
* Sign up for Hellgate: London beta
* Get exclusive news, interviews and updates about Hellgate: London
* Participate in The Resistance contests and win exclusive Hellgate: London premiums.
* Get involved in the growing Hellgate: London community.
* Fuel the Resistance with fan art and fan fiction.
Angelace has also provided this clarification to what users can access this (seeing that IAH is actually the publisher for the South East Asia population) and to the question of whether you have to be in Singapore to appy she said:
No, you don’t have to be
The pre-order process basically collates information so that we can inform you when the game is available for pre-ordering. Also, by leaving your information, it will put you on the waiting list for beta. Hope this answers your questions.
There is also a link to Angelace’s interview with Bill Roper in that thread.
Enjoy ![]()
Thanks goes to HGG member harbinger who brings it courtesy of HGG member G-15. The interview was translated from English to French back to English, meaning it may have some errors.
The translation can be seen here.

HGG member Laze found this interview with Tyler over at www.hellgate-welten.de. It is a short interview and Laze went to the trouble of translating it from German so thanks for this.
Hellgate: London: It’s done when it’s done
Tyler Thomson presents a very complete looking game
At the E3 in Santa Monica we had a word with Tyler Thomson, Director of Technology at Flagship Studios. The friendly hatwearer showed us Hellgate: London at great length, which made a very solid, complete impression.
The game will likely be full of insider jokes: an exceptionally big gun will be called “Tyler Gun”, and in the Holborn SubwayStation we met the one-legged boy Wirret - any Diablo veteran recalls the same-named boy (with a wooden leg) in the starting village.
On top of that, a feast of ideas and variety awaits the player community: Among other things we visited the “brain” of Techsmith 314 - such segments already made a great impression in Baldur’s Gate 2, Max Payne or Oblivion. What’s up with a big alien-airship called Exoscepter, which hovers close over the rooftops of one level, Tyler wouldn’t disclose. And concerning the story he’d only tell it’s about the revelation of ten “truths about mankind”.
And now for the bad news: On the subject of release date, the former lax guy got very tight-lipped all of a sudden. No less than three times we got to hear the following phrase: “To make it entirely clear, we’ve said in January, we hope to be ready this summer, but we’ve never mentioned a release date to anyone.”
This makes the by Amazon.de among others announced release date of 31. August 2007 look very doubtful, even if Tyler hasn’t explicitly declared it to be wrong.

We still have posters left over from the previous “Guru birthday” guessing contest so northrop has set up a new one that even people who signed up as recently as July 18th can join in on!
Alright ladies and gents, it’s time for some fun!
At first I was going to do that brain teaser contest… and I had everything ready for it. But then this Alpha-something pops out of nowhere. So, seriously… who the hell is going to be using their mush at a time like this?
BUT, then this thread comes along… and another idea comes to mind (well, actually I had a few others, but this one seemed to fit best… the random give-away was the close second
)
In short, come up with some Guru phrases. It’s that easy!
Be sure to check out the details here!
– Scapes
Hellgate Guru started in the middle of May, 2005. Two years and two months later, invites for the Hellgate: London alpha test started to be sent out. That’s right, members of the Hellgate: London community have reported receiving invitations. A few things to keep in mind: one, Flagship Studios is “starting slow and steady” to quote Ivan Sulic. This is not a major wave of invites but instead only the beginning. Two, we don’t know what order the invites are being sent out in. At the moment it seems mostly random, much like with the Mythos alpha test. And three, and this is the most important part:
It’s summer. It’s alpha. It’s time for the Hellgate: London community to kick it into high gear.

UPDATE:
It’d appear that the invites are going alphabetically. This wasn’t apparent at first until we started figuring invitees’ email addresses (HerrStoy’s and WiseWolf’s both start with “a”). Then you have alerith, aNi, and now Akuyazi has received an invite. The slow speed is due not only to the pace of the alpha but also the size of Flagship Studios’ database of emails submitted to HellgateLondon.com and Mythos.com. We haven’t gotten confirmation that the invites are being processed in alphabetical order but all indications certainly point to that as the pattern. We have yet to determine what merits an individual an invitation.
